Having a theme for your wedding is a fun way to add a bit of your personality into your big day. We’ve seen couples use a theme as a guiding light for decor and inspiration, while others just throw subtle nods to their theme throughout their day.
Check out a few themes that have been used at Barnwood Events, and the different ways the couples integrated their ideas into their day.
New Orleans
Erik and Nick wanted to include elements of New Orleans into their reception, since Erik’s family is from there. This was unique to a typical midwest wedding, because the timeline of the reception was different.
The couple had food stations instead of a sit down meal, and the food was available as soon as guests arrived.
No seating chart, and not enough seating for every single person. They wanted people to really mingle and dance.
A moment for a Second Line, a traditional dance done at weddings, funerals, and celebrations in New Orleans.
Evergreen trees were destined for a December wedding. Annabelle and Daniel filled the barn with evergreen trees and winter accents, making a stunning ceremony and reception.
A mix of 20 real and faux evergreen trees spread throughout the venue.
Evergreen accents on napkins, signage, bar accessories, and more.
Apple cider, with the option for it to be spiked at the bar, as a wintery, signature cocktail.
James and Bridget wanted to transform the venue into a woodland fantasy, and they succeeded with the help of amazing decor and florals, and custom elements scattered throughout.
Greenery was brought in and used in every nook and cranny in the venue.
A custom tool was created where each guest got a key, and when they put it up to a book, it told them where they would be seated – adding to the whimsy of the woodland fantasy.
Beautiful florals, fairy lights, books, gold accents, and wooden pieces were placed throughout the venue.
We’ve had a variety of TV shows, movies, musicians, and more as an accent for decor. Hannah and Jason had a love for Star Wars and found a few subtle ways to incorporate their love for the movies into their big day.
The seating chart and table numbers were Star Wars themed, and there was a Star Wars bobblehead at each table.
The groom and the groomsmen wore Star Wars socks.
Music from Star Wars was used for special moments like the grand entrance.
